The process of manual correction of essays causes some difficulties, among which we point out the time spent for correction and feedback to the student. For institutions such as elementary schools, universities and the National High School Exam in Brazil (ENEM), such activity demands time and cost for the evaluation of the texts produced. Going off-topic is one of the items evaluated in the ENEM essay that can nullify the whole essay produced by the candidate. In this context, the automatic analysis of essays with the application of techniques and methods of Natural Language Processing, Text Mining and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques has shown to be promising in the process of automated evaluation of written language. The goal of this research is to compare different AI techniques for the classification of going off-topic in texts and identify the one with the best result to enable a smart correction system for essays. Therefore, computer experiments were carried out to classify these texts in order to normalize, identify patterns and classify the essays in 1,320 Brazilian Portuguese essays in 119 different topics. The results indicate that the CNN classifier (convolutional neural network) obtained greater gain in relation to the other classifiers analyzed, both in accuracy and in relation to the results of false positives, precision of metrics, recall and F1-Score. In conclusion, the solution validated in this research contributes to positively impacting the work of teachers and educational institutions, by reducing the time and costs associated with the essay evaluation process.

O processo de correção manual de redações acarreta algumas dificuldades, dentre as quais apontam-se o tempo dispendido para a correção e devolutiva de resposta ao aluno. Para instituições como escolas de ensino básico e fundamental, universidades e o Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM), tal atividade demanda tempo e custo para a avaliação dos textos produzidos. A fuga ao tema é um dos itens avaliados na redação do ENEM que pode anular a redação produzida pelo candidato. Neste contexto, a análise automática de redações com a aplicação de técnicas e métodos de Processamento de Linguagem Natural, Mineração de Textos e outras técnicas de Inteligência Artificial (IA) tem se revelado promissora no processo de avaliação automatizada da linguagem escrita. O objetivo desta pesquisa é comparar diferentes técnicas de IA para classificação de fuga ao tema em textos e identificar aquela com melhor resultado para viabilizar um sistema de correção inteligente de redações. Para tanto, foram executados experimentos computacionais visando a classificação desses textos para normalizar, identificar padrões e classificar as redações em 1.320 redações de língua portuguesa em 119 temas diferentes. Os resultados indicam que o classificador RNC (rede neural convolucional) obteve maior ganho em relação aos demais classificadores analisados, tanto em acurácia, quanto em relação aos resultados de falsos positivos, métricas de precisão, recall e F1-Score. Como conclusão, a solução validada nesta pesquisa contribui para impactar positivamente o trabalho de professores e instituições de ensino, por meio da redução de tempo e custos associados ao processo de avaliação de redações.

Resumo Empresas ou incubadas de Base Tecnológica (EBTs) são pequenas organizações que se caracterizam por estarem relacionadas ao processo de inovação e desenvolvimento tecnológico na produção de novos produtos e serviços. Essas empresas, por um determinado período de tempo, recebem o apoio das chamadas Incubadoras de Base Tecnológica (IBTs), o que influencia no seu desenvolvimento. Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar o grau de importância, percebido pelos gestores de IBTs e de EBTs, dos fatores que contribuem para o desenvolvimento das Empresas de Base Tecnológica da região do Vale do Paraíba Paulista. São eles: características empreendedoras, recursos oferecidos pelas IBTs, recursos oferecidos em parcerias com outros agentes de desenvolvimento e requisitos de seleção de EBTs, por parte das IBTs. Para tanto, foi realizada, em junho de 2011, uma pesquisa por meio da aplicação de dois questionários, divididos em quatro partes: um aplicado para cinco gestores de IBTS e outro para vinte e cinco gestores de EBTs. A região do Vale do Paraíba Paulista (VPP) foi escolhida por concentrar um importante Polo Industrial e Tecnológico, que se destaca pelo forte crescimento econômico, localizado entre o eixo das duas principais metrópoles brasileiras, Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo. De modo geral, este estudo possibilitou analisar a percepção dos gestores de IBTs e EBTs com relação aos fatores considerados importantes para o seu desenvolvimento e também verificar como o empreendedorismo de base tecnológica foi praticado na região do VPP.

Abstract Technology-based firms are small businesses that are characterized by being related to innovation and technological development in production and services. These companies for a period of time receive support calls based Technology-based incubators. The objective of this study was to analyze the degree of importance perceived by managers of Technology-based firms and managers of Technology-based incubators of the factors that contribute to the development of Technology-based firms of the Vale do Paraíba Paulista Region. The following factors were analyzed: entrepreneurial characteristics, resources offered by Technology-based incubators, features offered in partnership with other development agents and selection requirements of Technology-based incubators by the Technology-based firms. One for the five managers of the Technology-based incubators and the other for twenty-five managers of Technology-based firms. For this, a survey in June 2011 was applied and two questionnaires divided into four parts was performed. The Vale do Paraíba Paulista Region was chosen to concentrate an important Industrial and Technological Pole, which stands out by strong economic growth, located between the axis of two major Brazilian cities, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The completion of the work enabled visualize how technology-based entrepreneurship has been practiced in the region Vale do Paraíba Paulista present important information in the region in 2011. It also allowed me to analyze the perception of managers regarding the factors considered.

Resumo O adensamento populacional de grandes centros urbanos como o da Região Metropolitana de São Paulo leva à verticalização e à formação de condomínios onde o consumo de água não é individualizado e dessa forma dificulta ações de uso racional da água, uma vez que cada morador não tem acesso ao seu consumo. Para atender a essa demanda, as empresas de saneamento têm estruturado programas para individualização do consumo de água. A empresa analisada neste trabalho implementou seu produto de individualização de água, porém ocorreram problemas nos processos comerciais, operacionais e de infraestrutura de Tecnologia da Informação que o envolvem. O objetivo deste trabalho foi, então, propor a reestruturação do produto Medição Individualizada em uma empresa de saneamento básico por meio do uso de framework de Arquitetura Corporativa. Optou-se pelo uso da Arquitetura Corporativa por possibilitar o alinhamento da estratégia com a execução, além de também analisar o negócio, os processos, os sistemas de informação e a infraestrutura de informática. Os resultados obtidos com o uso de framework de Arquitetura Corporativa contribuíram de forma positiva para que a proposta de reestruturação do produto fosse realizada de maneira estruturada por meio da visão global de todas as interfaces.

Abstract The population density in big centers such as the Metropolitan Area of São Paulo leads to the vertical buildings. The water consumption is not individualized, thereby impedes the actions of rational use of water. To meet this demand, a program for individualization of water consumption was structured and the Sanitation Company began offering the product Individual Metering. This product highlighted problems in commercial, operational and Infrastructure Technology. A review of the business strategy was performed and the need to ensure that changes in systems and processes that involve the product are implemented in a structured manner was identified. The objective of this paper was to propose a restructuring of the Individual Metering product in a sanitation company through Enterprise Architecture framework. The Enterprise Architecture was chosen because it allows alignment between strategy and execution. The results obtained contributed positively to the implementation of changes in the process and system.

O processamento de peças automotivas por meio de injeção de polímeros envolve vários fenômenos físicos que ocorrem simultaneamente e que possuem caráter não linear e multivariável. Softwares comerciais podem ser utilizados na previsão dos parâmetros do processo, o que pode ser caro e inviável. Pode-se determinar os parâmetros de forma analítica, mas o tratamento desse problema requer a aplicação de teorias clássicas dos fenômenos de transporte, de difícil equacionamento. As redes NeuroFuzzy são aplicáveis a esse problema porque reúnem a capacidade de aprender das redes neurais artificiais com a capacidade da lógica Fuzzy de transformar variáveis linguísticas em regras. Neste trabalho combinou-se uma rede neural artificial Multilayer Perceptron e uma rede neural artificial Radial Basis Function à lógica Fuzzy para construir-se um modelo de inferência que previu o tempo de ciclo de processos de injeção de polímeros. Os resultados obtidos confirmam as redes NeuroFuzzy como opção para esse tipo de problema.

The injection molding of automotive parts is a complex process due to the many non-linear and multivariable phenomena that occur simultaneously. Commercial software applications exist for modeling the parameters of polymer injection but can be prohibitively expensive. It is possible to identify these parameters analytically, but applying classical theories of transport phenomena requires accurate information about the injection machine, product geometry, and process parameters. However, neurofuzzy networks, which achieve a synergy by combining the learning capabilities of an artificial neural network with a fuzzy set's inference mechanism, have shown success in this field. The purpose of this paper was to use a multilayer perceptron artificial neural network and a radial basis function artificial neural network combined with fuzzy sets to produce an inference mechanism that could predict injection mold cycle times. The results confirmed neurofuzzy networks as an effective alternative to solving such problems.

The database of real world contains a huge volume of data and among them there are hidden piles of interesting relations that are actually very hard to find out. The knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) appears as a possible solution to find out such relations aiming at converting information into knowledge. However, not all data presented in the bases are useful to a KDD. Usually, data are processed before being presented to a KDD aiming at reducing the amount of data and also at selecting more relevant data to be used by the system. This work consists in the use of Rough Sets Theory, in order to pre-processing data to be presented to Self-Organizing Map neural network (Hybrid Architecture) for clusters analysis. Experiments' results evidence the better performance using the Hybrid Architecture than Self-Organizing Map. The paper also presents all phases of the KDD process.
